From AAJA-HQ: Program Updates

Guidance In response to a now-deleted tweet from the Chicago Sun-Times, AAJA urged newsrooms to not perpetuate xenophobia in coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic as anti-Asian violence increases. Read the guidance here

Media Institute After a two-year hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic, AAJA is excited to announce the return of Media Institute in partnership with The Asian American Foundation (TAAF), as part of their Anti-Hate National Network. These workshops will be held in Oakland, Chicago and New York City. They will prepare community leaders to build relationships and work with the media, tell their stories effectively and share their expertise. 

The Media Institute co-directors are Tomoko Hosaka Mullaney, Vice President of The Asia Group; Ellen Lee, writer and editor based in the San Francisco Bay Area; and Pamela Wu, Director of News and Media Relations for UC Davis Health. Learn more here

AAJA Defined ICYMI: Alumni Sally Ho of the Associated Press and Andrew Nguyen of the Boston Globe shared testimonials reflecting on their experiences in the Executive Leadership Program.
