April 14 | AAJA-New York’s Raise Your Carbon Literacy | On Friday, April 14 at 5 p.m., AAJA-NY will host a virtual event with clever carbon to help more people learn about their personal carbon footprint, and how increasing our carbon literacy might help with everyday reporting. | RSVP here.

April 15 | AAJA-Seoul’s Digital N3: Investigative & Data Journalism Powered by Machine Learning | AAJA-Asia’s Seoul Chapter and Google News Initiative will co-host a hybrid workshop on Saturday, April 15 at Google Seoul. April 19 | Yung AAJA's From Journalism to Documentary, featuring Dolly Li | On Wednesday, April 19, join Yung AAJA at 7 p.m. ET for a virtual event with Emmy award-winning journalist and filmmaker Dolly Li as she discusses the evolution of her career and the various pathways journalists can pivot to. | RSVP here.

 

We Bridge Music Festival & Expo 
We Bridge is a three-day experience that will take place April 21-23, 2023 in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. The three-day expo will include a range of activities such as panel discussions, art displays and immersive installations, retail booths, and an Asian marketplace with various food and beverage vendors. 📓 News & Resources

surveys Prisca Project, in partnership with Ascend, Multicultural Media & Correspondents Association (MMCA) and more, has released their INCLUSION@WORK reports for Black Americans and gender. The purpose of these national surveys is to provide the hard data needed for budgeting processes around diversity and inclusion. The AAPI@WORK report will be released on May 1, 2023.

report A new Pew Research study reveals that U.S. journalists’ beats vary widely by gender and other factors such as employment status, race and ethnicity.

guide Following the school shooting in Nashville on March 27, The Association of Health Care Journalists released tips to avoid spreading misinformation about trans people, mental illness and mass shootings.

study Documented community correspondents conducted a study assessing the information needs and habits of Chinese and Caribbean immigrants living in New York City. It revealed that many Chinese immigrants in New York are concerned about public safety.

journalism support The Northwest Journalists of Color Training Fund, organized by AAJA Seattle, the Seattle Association of Black Journalists and PeriodistasNW, will raise and disperse funds to professional journalists of color to use for training. 

NAHJ's 40th The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) has bolstered its five-year plan to advocate for journalists of color. NAHJ President Yvette Cabrera shared some of NAHJ’s goals and accomplishments for their 40th anniversary.
