Erin Shigaki and her dad, John, walk with others during Tsuru for Solidarity's Day of Remembrance and Resistance event on Wednesday, Feb. 19 in Seattle, Washington. The annual event commemorates the approximately 110,000 people of Japanese descent in the U.S. forcibly removed from their homes and incarcerated during World War II under Executive Order 9066. The event was originally planned to be held at Seattle’s Pike Place Market until the venue abruptly canceled.
