Our multimedia journalism training fellowship for college and graduate students will be held in Austin, Texas in conjunction with #AAJA24. | | 📓 News & Resources: survey If you’ve experienced a journalism layoff or buyout in the past year, an ongoing survey needs your input. The Institute for Independent Journalists Foundation is conducting a census of journalists who were laid off and bought out recently. Take the survey here. study In a recent study, researchers found that scientists with East Asian or African names are less likely to be identified in news stories about their research. Racial bias was consistent across all outlets analyzed because of unconscious stereotypes like English proficiency and time zone differences. Learn more and read the full study here. |
