AAJA & MVJ Statement on misuse of "Kamikaze" AAJA and Military Veterans in Journalism reiterated our guidance calling for newsrooms to refrain from using “kamikaze” to describe the self-detonating Iranian-made drones that Russia is using to conduct attacks in Ukraine, after the New York Times used the imprecise and inflammatory term in a feature story. AAJA-Asia supports HKJA AAJA stands with AAJA-Asia’s statement supporting the Hong Kong Journalists Association chairperson, Selina Cheng, who was recently terminated from her job at the Wall Street Journal after she refused to step down from her position as HKJA chairperson.
